Today is Brett's Half-Birthday! In case you're wondering, the title of this post is half of "Happy Birthday." :) Can you believe he is already a 6-month old?!? This weekend we bought Brett two half-birthday presents: a pool and a gun. Okay, I'm not being quite clear...we bought him a baby blow-up pool, and a bubble-blowing gun. Yesterday Brett tested out his new pool for the first time! Mommy thinks he's going to take after her and be a star swimmer (probably not synchro, though). Today was Brett's first excursion to a water park! Wheeee! The Athey Creek moms had a day at the park with all the kiddos. I wish I'd snapped photos of all of them; they were soooo cute all drenched in the water! But I had a hard enough time getting shots of my little man as he teetered in the puddles. So here's what you get:

Here Brett is modeling his new Chinese jammies! Grandma brought them home from her recent excursion to China with her MBA students. Grandma sure knows best - Red is Brett's signature color. :)

Great day for a BBQ

On Sunday, our church held its first summer barbecue of 2008. The food was delicious, and the fellowship was a blessing. We were so happy that Grandma and Grandpa joined us! Brett enjoyed riding around in his classy chassis and flirting with the ladies (aka Casey, Meghann and Natalie).

Brett's New Friend

Today Brett got to go on a walk with cute little Shep, Meghann and Trevor's new puppy! He is suuuuuch a cutie. I didn't get the greatest photos, but you get the idea...










In culinary news, Brett got to taste avocadoes for the first time this week! Yummmmm.....







And in fashion news...
This is a photo of my little cutie in his new green overall shorts and matching shoes. The shorts have a beige embroidered lizard and the beige and green shoes, made by my aunt Betty, have cute little green reptilian dinosaurs on them. The best part about the shoes is that you can actually swap the little dinosaurs with all kinds of other cute decals, using velcro. I especially love the little red cars, and the panda bears. We just love it when our clothes match!! :)

Father's Day FOOD

This is Part 2 of my Father's Day postings...I just had to show all the yummy food we enjoyed yesterday! First off, Brett had his very first taste of pureed sweet potatoes, made by Chef Mommy. His initial reaction was a bit skeptical, and then he gradually warmed up enough to actually clean the bowl!








Didn't you know that Sweet Potatoes also make a great facial mask?


Then, Mommy and Daddy got to enjoy a delicious fondue dinner after our little spud went to bed. Mmmmmmm....!




All gone!


Finally, we devoured our first home-grown cherry dessert of the season - vanilla ice cream topped with a home-made chunky cherry syrup! Sorry, we ate it too fast to take photos ;)

Happy Father's Day!

For Daddy's first Father's Day, we took an outing to Fuddrucker's after church. Brett also got Daddy a special book that teaches you all the great things boys can do. Brett can't wait to learn how to juggle, wrestle an alligator, make a water bomb, play card tricks, pop a wheelie, etc....with his awesome daddy!!! Happy Father's Day, honey...you're the best :)

Field Trip!

Today we took advantage of Two-Dollar-Tuesday at the Oregon Zoo! Brett and I braved the overcast, misty weather along with our friends, Jacki and Emma! Milestones!

Hi everyone! I took a break from posting as Brad and I were both nursing icky colds. Thank goodness Brett never got it! Our little man has been working very hard to become a big boy this week. First, he sat up all by himself...

The next day, he finally rolled over from back to tummy (sorry, no photo of that)!

...And on Saturday, he started trying to crawl! We shot a video of that, but unfortunately it was too large to upload so I'll just inundate you all with cute photos instead... :)
