Married Group Reunion!

On Sunday we had the pleasure of visiting Kim and Jamie, friends from our newly married group oh-s0-long-ago, as they invited everyone over for a BBQ! It was super fun to reconnect with everyone, especially seeing all the kiddos that have come along since then! We even tried to get all four of the kids in a photo together...no easy task when the oldest is only 3 1/2 and two of them are under a year! Hee hee, it was quite funny. Sorry, Emma, for posting a photo of you falling through the chair! Please forgive us...it's the only one of Brett's face :)

FIVE years and counting!

Today we celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary! It was a great day...started out with a lazy brunch all together as a fam (Brett had apricots for the first time). We exchanged cards then, too.

Then, I got some time in at the gym (preparing for our upcoming caloric windfall at dinner), while Brett hung out in the "Kids' Club" and my sweet hubby worked in the garage. Yes, he worked in the garage on our anniversary - what a modern-day hero!

Next, that same sweet hubby played with the little man while I got ready for our big date. We headed out, dropped Brett off at Grandma and Grandpa's, and then began our date!

We enjoyed a FANTASTIC dinner at the Macaroni Grill at Bridgeport...didn't even have to wait to be seated! I guess everyone was waiting in line for tickets to Batman or something...to top it off, the first song that played at the restaurant was Frank Sinatra's Too Marvelous For Words, which just happened to be the song we danced to at our wedding reception. When I say "danced," I mean that we practiced for months a foxtrot/swing routine, complete with spins and dips! It was so fun to relive that little moment in our married history. We devoured our tasty meal, and even got free chocolate cake because it's my birthday in two days. Then we walked off a few of the calories by heading over to Whole Foods to get some more avocadoes for our little guy (his favorite green food to date).

Last, we went to a movie that really isn't worth mentioning, but it was still fun to be together without constantly listening for squeaks and whimpers in the baby monitor! Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa for giving us such a great night off! Thanks, sweet hubby for making this day so wonderful! Thanks, Lord, for blessing our marriage and growing family! Both of us expressed the same sentiment throughout the day - imagine where we'll be in five more years...! Yipes; I'm guessing we'll be severely outnumbered by little people by then! :)

So Darn Cute

I don't know what else to title this post...just some pics over the last week of our sweet little guy being his adorable self!

Hangin in the pool with mom:

Action shot - Brett loves splashing in his pool!

Thoroughly enjoying his lunch:

News Points:

  • Brett has now tried NINE different solid foods...he is such a good eater! As of right now, he eats a big solid lunch and dinner everyday. Soon we'll be introducing solid breakfast, too. I'm loving feeding him all these yummy, wholesome foods made right here in my kitchen! Some of them are even grown in our backyard. Currently Brett's faves are yogurt with homegrown cherries and avocadoes.
  • Also, the little man is actually starting to form a bit of a schedule all on his own. He used to be pretty unpredictable when it came to eating and sleeping, but now he pretty much sleeps solid from 8pm to 7am (or later)! How sweet is that? Mommy is finally starting to catch up on some rest...yippee!
Anyway, that's pretty much it for updates from the Boehme3...Hope you are enjoying your summer as much as we are!

Little Patriot

Happy 4th of July!

Hope you enjoyed your Independence Day celebration...Today we took Brett to the park with Grandpa (Grandma's in Minnesota visiting family). It's the same park I always visited as a kiddo, so it was very fun and nostalgic for me. Brett got to feed the ducks, and he tried some yummy home-grown cherries for the first time! We grown-ups enjoyed scrumptious cherry pie: yummmmm!

No big fireworks tonight, but we did light off some sparklers for the little man.

All tuckered out...what a day!
Cute lil' sparkler!

Side note: Brett's 6-month doctor appointment was yesterday. The stats:
Weight - 19.5 lbs. (grown over 12 pounds since birth)
Length - 27.25 in. (grown 8 inches since birth)
He is still recovering from the latest round of shots, poor guy. What a trooper!
